What is Universal Scripts Project

The reason I am so excited to write about the Universal Scripts Project is that this is the project that creates the Unicode for all the languages and this makes it possible for us to use our favorite languages on our computers, tablets, smartphones.

In simple words, the Universal Scripts Project creates the codes that make it possible for us to create or use fonts of any language on any device.

Script Encoding Initiative (SEI)

The project is the brainchild of the University of California, Berkeley. The Script Encoding Initiative (SEI) was started in April 2002 at the Department of Linguistics, University of California.

What is Unicode?

The term Unicode stands for Universal Coded Character Set.

Unicode is an international standard for writing different languages, scripts etc.
